A Mental Health Care Plan (also called a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan) is a plan created by a GP to help you access and coordinate mental health support services in Australia.

A GP assesses your mental health needs and creates a tailored plan that outlines the treatment and support you require. This typically involves a longer appointment (around 20 minutes) where you discuss your mental health concerns, symptoms, and goals via video call with one of our doctors.

The main advantage is that it gives you access to Medicare rebates for psychological services. With a Mental Health Care Plan, you can access up to 10 subsidised sessions with a psychologist, social worker, or occupational therapist per calendar year.
