How telehealth consults work

1.

Submit your request via our online form

Let our doctors know why you’re requesting the telehealth consultation, whether you would like a male or female doctor, and upload any photos you would like the doctor to see.

2.

A doctor will call you

One of our Australian-registered doctors will call you to discuss your concerns or medical condition. You can also request a medical certificate and any specialist referrals, which is included in the cost of the call.

3.

You will receive an SMS and email with any documents

If a prescription is issued, an e-script will be sent to your phone or email you can take it to any pharmacy of your choice. We will also email you a medical certificate or referral if deemed appropriate by the doctor.

What can I request during my consultation

In general, our patients speak to our doctors when they are feeling unwell or require general medical advice. You can also request prescriptions, multi-day medical certificate and specialist referrals if you need them at no added cost - just like your regular GP.

Prescriptions, medical certificates and specialist referrals will only be provided if your consulting doctor decides they are clinically appropriate.

"Time Saver – I use this service for basic blood works. Instead of having to book with a doctor, or wait hours at a bulk billing clinic, I pay a small fee for the convenience of just turning up at the pathology with my request on my phone. It's very easy to use, fast and efficient."

-Christopher W.

"Very satisfied with the service. Once application is submitted, after a few minutes the doctor called. Prescriptions and medical certificates were sent immediately. Doctor was accommodating and friendly and nice."

- Yvonne

"Just amazing. From first point of booking a telehealth call to my wonderful doctor ordering specific tests and getting results. I am so happy I went through InstantScripts."

Frequently asked questions

Who can use InstantScripts?

Anyone of any age in Australia with a Medicare card or IHI number can access InstantScripts for telehealth consultations.

However, for Online Prescriptions, Medical Certificates, Blood Tests and Specialist Referrals, you must be 18 years old or over.

What is a telehealth consultation?

A telehealth consultation is one where a doctor will call you via phone or if required, video call you via our video platform, to speak to you about a medical condition or concern.

What do I receive from a telehealth consultation?

You will receive personalised care from an Australian-registered doctor. Just like your regular GP, you can request medical advice, prescriptions, medical certificates, pathology referrals and specialist referrals. The doctor will decide whether it is clinically required as part of your treatment.

Can I request a telehealth consultation on a weekend?

Yes! We offer our patients 24/7 access to our services and a certified, Australian registered doctor is always online.

Are InstantScripts services Medicare bulk billed?

InstantScripts offers highly competitive flat-fee pricing for medical services that is often cheaper than out-of-pocket expense on Medicare-funded services.

The Australian Government does not permit Medicare rebates for any telehealth provider where a face-to-face consultation has not previously occurred in the last 12 months. This means you cannot claim your InstantScripts consultation with Medicare.

Are InstantScripts doctors real?

InstantScripts has been trusted by millions of Australians to provide online healthcare.

Every InstantScripts doctor is an AHPRA-registered and fully-insured doctor based in Australia who adheres to the highest clinical standards.

Your doctor’s prescriber number will be written on any prescription that is prescribed.
