What is InstantScripts®?

InstantScripts is a secure online digital healthcare platform that makes managing your health easy, affordable and efficient.

We offer prescriptions for customers after they complete a short digital consultation with an Australian doctor. Once the digital consultation is completed, the answers are quickly reviewed by our registered doctors and, if approved, a prescription is issued in minutes.

InstantScripts also offers one day or multiple day medical certificates if you are unable to work. Blood tests and personalised healthcare programs are also available all from the convenience of your home.

Can I get prescribed medication online?

You can get a script for your prescription drugs online and have it sent directly to your local pharmacy for easy pickup with InstantScripts.

You can even organise to have certain types of medication sent straight to your door within 1-3 days with our express delivery option.

How do I get a prescription online?

Once you have completed a digital or Telehealth consultation for your selected medication, your prescription request will be reviewed by one of our Australian registered doctors. If a prescription is approved, it will be emailed to your local pharmacy of choice, allowing you to pick up your prescription medication in minutes. A QR code for the medication can also be sent to your phone and email, or the medication can be delivered to your door through our trusted partners.

Can anyone use InstantScripts?

Anyone in Australia can access Telehealth consultations.

For the express script option, you must be 18 years old or over and living within Australia.

Can I get a medical certificate online using InstantScripts®?

Yes, a doctor can issue you with a medical certificate if deemed suitable. The medical certificate will be emailed to you within minutes of the doctor reviewing your digital consultation.

For medical certificates that must be valid for more than 1 day, patients must consult with a doctor online via an InstantScripts Telehealth consultation.

Do I need a medicare card to use the InstantScripts service?

You will require a Medicare card for most of our services.
All requests on our site require an IHI (Individual Health Identifier). Generally, if you have a Medicare card number then you will have an IHI, but you could have an IHI without a Medicare card.

Our consultations are not bulk billed, but the pathology ordered through them, or on express pathology are generally bulk billed.

Our express scripts are also generally PBS subsidised so require a Medicare card number

Why do you need my address?

A prescription is a legal document. Legislation states that it must include a patient’s address.

Is a real doctor writing my prescription?

Every InstantScripts doctor is a licensed, registered & fully insured doctor based in Australia who will adhere to the highest clinical standards.

Your doctor’s medicare prescriber number will be written on the prescription.

Am I guaranteed to receive a prescription?

No. Depending on your consultation, a doctor will decide if your prescription request is right for you and safe to provide.

How much does it cost?

Prescriptions without a phone consultation can be obtained via the InstantScripts platform for $15.

Same day Medical Certificates are available online for $19.

Online pathology tests can be requested for $20.

Telehealth consultations with one of our registered Australian doctors are available for $49.

Can I book a doctor’s appointment online?

Yes. You can book a doctor’s appointment online with InstantScripts.

If you need medical advice over the phone, you can request a Telehealth consultation to speak to a doctor online.

What is Telehealth?

A Telehealth consultation allows you to access remote healthcare and medical advice over the phone.

Request a Telehealth consultation with InstantScripts and one of our Australian registered doctors will phone you within two hours of your request.

What happens once my prescription is approved?

Once your prescription is approved, it will be emailed to your local pharmacy of choice, allowing you to pick up your prescription medication in minutes. A QR code for the medication can also be sent to your phone and email, or the medication can be delivered to your door through our trusted partners.

Do you provide prescription repeats?

Our doctors can provide prescription repeats via a Doctor Consultation. Repeats are not available via the online script service.

Can I get medicine delivered?

Yes, InstantScripts now offers medicine home delivery. Simply select the ‘Express Shipping’ option when requesting your prescriptions and, for a small additional fee, your medicine will be delivered straight to your door in 1-3 business days. Your medication will be fulfilled by Prahran Amcal Pharmacy located in Melbourne.

Please note that, for safety reasons, not all types of medication are eligible for home delivery.

What happens if there are no pharmacies for pick up located in my area?

If there are no member pharmacies located in your area, no problem! Complete the process and we will assign the closest pharmacy to your address.

Alternatively, certain prescription drugs can be delivered straight to your door for a small additional fee.

Can I obtain a controlled drug via InstantScripts?

No, our doctors will not prescribe S8 or S4D medications. Please do not book an online doctor consultation via our service if you require these medications.

What happens to my data?

We only collect patient personal information for the purpose of medical consultation.

Patient personal information is stored in secure cloud storage and encrypted in the database. All data is stored in Australian data centres.

What security does InstantScripts use?

Your safety is our priority.

We use secured cloud data centres to protect your data. All connections to our servers are encrypted and protected with modern secured communication protocols (HTTPS/TLS) using strong security certificates.

How do I download InstantScripts?

Simply visit the App Store for iOS or Google Play Store for Android to download the InstantScripts App for free.

Alternatively, you can access the InstantScripts platform on your desktop.

What sort of medication is available through InstantScripts?

InstantScripts offers online prescriptions for over 300 common medications, both for everyday conditions and chronic illnesses, including:

  • Women’s health and contraceptive pill refills

  • Men’s health, erectile dysfunction medication and premature ejaculation treatment

  • Urinary tract infection (UTI) treatment

  • Herpes treatment

  • Prescriptions for asthma inhalers

  • High blood pressure medication

  • Over-the-counter gout medication

  • Prescriptions for pain management

  • Cholesterol medication

  • Heartburn treatment

  • Antidepressants and SSRI medication

  • Hormone replacement therapy

  • Melatonin tablets

  • Nasal sprays

  • Steroid creams

  • Prescription skin care products for acne and Rosacea

If your medication is not listed you can book a Telehealth consultation with one of our Australian registered doctors to discuss your medical needs and they may be able to prescribe your medication.

Does InstantScripts bulk bill?

In January 2022, the Australian Government rules regarding telehealth bulk billing changed. In order to be eligible for bulk-billed doctor telehealth consultations, the patient must have had a face-to-face consultation with their doctor or another doctor in the same practice in the 12 months prior to the current telehealth service request. Therefore, InstantScripts is not able to provide bulk billed appointments. To find out more please visit Australian Government Rules
