What is InstantScripts?

InstantScripts® is a secure platform that offers prescriptions for customers after they complete a short digital consultation with an Australian GP. 

Once a customer completes the digital consultation, the answers are quickly reviewed by an Australian GP,  if approved a prescription is emailed to the pharmacist within minutes.

Bulk-billed Telehealth consultations are also now available via InstantScripts® 

How do I get my prescription?

Once you have completed a digital medical consultation for your selected medication or a Telehealth consultation, if a prescription is approved, it will be emailed to your pharmacy of choice.

Can anyone use InstantScripts?

For the express script option, you must be within Australia and be 18 years old or over to use InstantScripts

Anyone within Australia of any age can access Telehealth consultations.

Can I obtain a medical certificate using InstantScripts?

Yes, a doctor can issue you with a Medical Certificate if deemed suitable. The Medical Certificate will be emailed to your email address within minutes of the doctor reviewing your digital consultation.

For medical certificates that must be valid for longer than 1 day, patients must consult with a doctor via InstantScripts Telehealth consultations

Do I need a medicare card to use the InstantScripts service?

While anyone can use the service, you require a medicare card to be eligible for bulk billing. 

Why do you need my address?

A prescription is a legal document and legislation states that it must include a patient’s address.

Is a real GP writing my prescription?

Every InstantScripts doctor is a licensed, registered & fully insured doctor based in Australia who will adhere to the highest clinical standards. Your doctor’s medicare prescriber number will be written on the prescription.

Am I guaranteed to receive a prescription?

No. Depending on your consultation, a GP will decide if a prescription will be provided. 

How much does it cost?

All consultations will be bulk billed if the patient has a valid medicare card.

For prescriptions without a phone consultation these can be obtained via the InstantScripts platform for $15.

Can I speak to the doctor?

Yes. To speak with a doctor, you must request a consultation with a InstantScripts doctor.

What happens once my prescription is approved?

If a prescription is approved, it will be immediately emailed to your pharmacy of choice and you will also receive an email confirmation notifying you that it has been sent. You should then visit your preferred pharmacy to collect your medication.

Do you provide repeats?

Our doctors can provide repeats via a Telehealth consultation. Repeats are not available via the express script service.

What happens if there are no pharmacies for pick up located in my area?

If there are no member pharmacies located in your area, no problem! Complete the process and we will assign the closest pharmacy to your address.

Can I obtain a controlled drug via InstantScripts?

No, our doctors will not prescribe S8 or S4D medications. Please do not book appointments via our service if you require these medications.

What happens to my data?

We only collect patient personal information for the purpose of medical consultation. Patient personal information is stored on secured cloud storage and encrypted in the database. All data is stored in Australian data centers.

What security does InstantScripts use?

We use secured cloud data centres to protect the data. All connections to our servers are encrypted and secure by modern secured communication protocols (HTTPS/TLS) using strong security certificates.

How do I download InstantScripts?
